Most of us are familiar with setting a goal or a resolution for the new year, like to
exercise more. You might set up a program, join a gym or even buy new running
shoes. Then comes the most difficult part—doing the work to reach your goal. It
can be very difficult to stick with the hard work necessary to succeed.
As we end one year and begin a new one, it is a time to begin setting goals for
the next year. I hope that you take some time to discuss achieving goals with your
children. A goal can be something simple like having a positive attitude each day or
doing homework every night that it is assigned. The students and I discussed the
importance of setting goals at the beginning of the school year. I hope that all
parents help reinforce the idea of having goals and working hard to reach them.
Together we can make amazing progress!

I hope all of our Davis ES families have a safe and wonderful holiday season and a
special beginning to the new year. Thank you for all that you do for your children’s
education and success!
